After living in Kentucky and Florida for a few years but before my parents moved to California we lived in central Mexico for two years. It was there when I was eight years old that I decided I wanted to be an artist. After being awarded a state scholarship I chose to go to Art Center College of Design in California.

After college I lived in the Chicago area for 13 years doing art related jobs until I moved to Austin almost 25 years ago. During my first year in Texas ICindy DeBold Texas Jackrabbit web
discovered sculpture and concentrated on that until about 10 years ago when I decided I wanted to use more color in my art. Most of my paintings are of colorful Texas landscape scenes near my home although I also enjoy painting people and animals.

My medium of choice is acrylics because I love under-painting and using bright colors. Until the last few years, my sculptures have been mostly figurative; both realistic and abstract with my goal of expressing emotion. Even in the historical portraits I have made my main goal has always been to have the viewer feel the emotion I wanted to express. Before deciding what expression best represents their personality or life, if possible, I read their biography.

Lately I have begun adding more color to my sculptures and even doing animals. My love of art surrounds almost everything I do. I hope the work I do helps brighten your day. I also welcome commissions.
